Today is the Day

Well today is the day.  The reason we came to Geneva.  Julie & Brendan are off at the hospital and Julie is receiving her chemo treatment as we speak. I am at the house with the kids.  According to the kids, we are having a party!  J  I am so happy to have the opportunity to be on this trip with Julie & Brendan.  Not because I really wanted to spend lots of time in Switzerland (which I do and am very glad I have this opportunity), but because I want to be here as Julie starts to heal. I want to be here to help with the kids and I want to be here to share this fantastic trip with the Lyons.

I have so much fun with this family.  If you guys know the Lyons, you know they are fun.  We spend most of our time laughing.  Who doesn’t love to laugh?  Don’t they say Laughter is the Best Medicine?  We are getting some good doses of medicine here in Switzerland.  The kids are so darn funny!  Even when they are fighting, arguing or whining, it still pretty darn funny.  Yesterday on the cable car, Brendan started whining and complaining about not being able to sit by the window (like the kids do every time we get into any type of vehicle).  We were in a glass cable car…the whole thing was windows.  Even the kids had a good laugh at that one.  I absolutely love hearing Jack sing Johnny Appleseed as his prayer before we eat…or listen to the latest pretend scenario that Hallie has developed. I love hearing the questions they asks and seeing things through their eyes.  I could not have had a better week here, I am only sorry I have to head home on Wednesday.

I have been praying a lot here.  I am asking God to heal Julie, but I am also thanking him for healing Julie.  I want to concentrate on the power of positive thinking.  We are here at the right time as things are getting a little harder on Julie.  Of course, you wouldn’t know it because she is always smiling and always on the go.  Switzerland has been a wonderful peaceful distraction, and I am praying that the treatment goes well today, it eases Julie’s pain, it calms Brendan’s worries, and it Beat the Hell Outta Melanoma.

Just a quick update on our recent activity. we went to Nyon and to Yivore on Saturday.  Yesterday we went driving and went up Mount Jura.  We took a cable car to the top.  Fantastic views.

While in Yivore the kids tried to walk in the water.  Of course, they tried to do it at a dock, that has algae on the ramp.  It was just like you would see in a cartoon, both kids went down immediately then started crying because they were all wet.  Love this picture.  Wish we had it on video.  Jack walked with his hands out all day long!

Yesterday we stumbled upon a fantastic outdoor market in Divonne.  The kids bought some candy.  Jack got a very long Gummy Snake.  But, he decided he didn’t want to eat it, he really wanted to play with it.  So he has been playing with the snake and taking it everywhere.  Right now it is sun bathing beside the pool (he knows that it can’t go in the pool).  But, the problem with a gummy snake sun bathing is it gets all yucky.  I quickly removed it from sun bathing.  I am wondering when we will be able to throw it away!
