HOLY COW

Holy Cow! Why do I love CNN Breaking News? Today’s big event! The Governor of New York is expected to resign over being caught in a Prostitution Sting. What is even crazier is that he was elected on a Reform agenda and cleaning up New York. As attorney general he prosecuted many prostitution rings, took on Wall street and big pharma!

Update: Okay the man does a short press conference. Speculation continues if he will resign. It is starting to appear that as Governor of New York he made a phone call and ordered a high priced prostitute (all caught on a wire tap).

So let me ask you this: If you spend 8 years as THE MOST public and outspoken Attorney General in the nation, having made a name for yourself by taking down the big guys (making a lot of enemies), then you move on to Governor of one of the largest states in the US…do you really think you can just call a high priced call girl at any time you want? What processes you to do that? Frankly, don’t you think that if the Governor was looking for a little action on the side he could have found someone to have sex with that he didn’t have to pay? Did he perceive that he was paying for anonymity?

Question: Is he just arrogant or stupid?

I have no idea but I am fascinated by stuff like this.   It shows how quickly someone rises and falls.  Goes to show ANYTHING could happen between now and election day.

 P.S.  Spitzer is a SuperDelegate. 🙂

Should Governor Spitzer Resign?
1) Yes

As soon as I received the CNN breaking news update, I just had to check your blog–knowing full well you would comment. I must say I agree with you and cannot imagine what the hell he was thinking. I mean, really…you prosecuted how many prostitution rings!?!? So, you need a little and decide to just call up your favorite madam? Unbelievable.

Way to bring shame and disrepect to my beloved home state.

More arrogant than stupid I think. This story really illustrates the problem with the vast majority of politicians on both sides of the aisle — they are complete hypocrites and consider themselves to be above “the masses”.

When Spitzer was attorney general he prosecuted prostitution rings: http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9C01E1D91438F93BA35757C0A9629C8B63&sec=&spon=&partner=permalink&exprod=permalink

Could there be any better example of complete and utter hypocrisy? What’s good for you is not necessarily good for them. Do as I say, not as I do. And so on…

This doesn’t just apply to their personal iniquities, but to just about everything that they do in the political realm.

They want to run public schools, but their children go to private schools. They want to enforce universal health care that they will never use because they have enough money to see top doctors and receive private care. They pass “estate taxes” and raise taxes in general, but know all the loopholes to get around them. They pass gun laws that stop the average person from protecting their family effectively, but they have bodyguards and/or Secret Service protection. The list goes on!

It’s really too bad that both Republicans and Democrats – especially at the national level – simply compete for who can get the biggest power grab, the most money, the most pork barrel projects, etc.

When Bill is stumping about how Hillary and McCain are such good friends, you know something is wrong with the system: “They always laugh that if they wound up being the nominees of their party, it would be the most civilized election in American history, and they’re afraid they’d put the voters to sleep because they like and respect each other.”

It always blows my mind that someone in an impt position can make such a fool of himself and bring disgrace to his family. Does he really believe that he will never get caught?
There was an editorial in Sunday’s Chrinicle and the writer made the comment about Why does a man go out of town and have to dial up call girls…a woman goes out of town and all she wants is a bath by herself and room service.
    WHY IS THAT?
