In the UK paper The Guardian a journalist, Jonathan Freedland, wrote an article about how it would be a CRIME if America rejected Obama and Senator McCain became President. Mr. Freedland believes that Obama is the one we have been waiting for and that with the huge amount of global support he has, we would offend the free world if we did not elect him. (You know how political correct we American’s are…we would certainly hate to offend anyone).
The article claims we will have a generation of disillusioned youth, who fought and campaigned for Obama…they will never be the same.
But what REALLY annoyed the crap out of me was this:
But what of the rest of the world? This is the reaction I fear most. For Obama has stirred an excitement around the globe unmatched by any American politician in living memory. Polling in Germany, France, Britain and Russia shows that Obama would win by whopping majorities, with the pattern repeated in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America. If November 4 were a global ballot, Obama would win it handsomely. If the free world could choose its leader, it would be Barack Obama.
If Americans choose McCain, they will be turning their back on the rest of the world, choosing to show us four more years of the Bush-Cheney finger. And I predict a deeply unpleasant shift.
I just wanted to point out that we are voting for President of the UNITED STATES. I don’t really understand where the opinion of other countries comes in play. You want to vote on our President…move over here and become a citizen.
BTW, at least if McCain gets elected I can sleep a little better knowing our national security and homeland defense is in good hands.
One more thing…Media..please please please let the whole “lipstick” thing go. Its a non-issue. And frankly…McCain campaign, shame on you for putting it out there. Yes, you carried the media for the day, but can we get back to the real issues. I swear, some people want to know about the issues…not the cheap political shots.
